• Bert daniel

    LEAD PASTOR, ELDER

    Bert has served as lead pastor at Berea since 2002, and became pastor at Crawford Avenue through the merger process. He and his wife Nikki have two sons, Noah and Isaiah, and one daughter, Tatom. Bert has a bachelor’s degree from Columbia International University as well as both a MDiv and DMin from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He enjoys spending time with his family, reading, working out, and watching Georgia Tech football. 



  • STEPHEN STORY

    EXECUTIVE PASTOR, ELDER

    Stephen joined Berea in 2004 and has served as executive pastor at Crawford Avenue since 2017. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Dottie, and they have three children. He has a bachelor's degree from Columbia International University, an MDiv from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, as well as a Master of Public Administration from the University of Nebraska. He enjoys DIY projects around the house and is a fan of Braves baseball. 


  • Anthony prichard

    ASSISTANT PASTOR, ELDER

    Anthony serves as an assistant pastor at Crawford Avenue, where he oversees community groups, member care, and biblical counseling. He became a member of Berea in 2012 and joined Crawford Avenue with the merger. He and his wife, Kristen, were married in 2016. He has a bachelor's degree from Augusta University and a MDiv from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He loves spending time with his family and enjoys Korean food, reading, and board games. 


  • GARY ATWELL

    ELDER

    Gary and his wife, Rachel, became members at Berea in 2014 and joined Crawford Avenue with the merger. They have four children: Carter, Haddon, Merritt, and Rowan. Gary is originally from south Georgia. Gary currently works as a contractor at Fort Gordon and enjoys outdoor activities, sports, movies, and beekeeping.


  • R.G. Lamar

    ELDER

    R.G. and his wife, Rachel, became members at Crawford Avenue in 2021. They have two children, Lizzie and Gainer. R.G. has spent most of his career farming pecans, and he now runs a pecan snack manufacturing facility. He enjoys golf, mountains, reading, and cooking.

    Ivan has been a member of Crawford Avenue since 2018. He works as editorial director for The Gospel Coalition. He and his wife, Sarah, have four children. He enjoys reading, drinking good coffee, traveling, and visiting historical landmarks. 



  • Don Pezzatta

    ELDER

    Don and his wife, Vannessa, became members at Berea in 2012 and joined Crawford Avenue with the merger. They live in North Augusta and have two young adult children, Samuel and Victoria. Don began serving as an elder in 2014 and currently works at Fort Gordon. He and his wife love hosting friends and family and firing up the pellet grill and BBQing.

    ELDER

    Andy and his wife, Ilene, became members of Crawford Avenue in 2021. They have been married for over four decades and have five children and 14 grandchildren. They lived in Macedonia for five years to lead ministry work there and continue to serve in Serbia. Andy has been a physician in Augusta since 1988 and served as the leader of men’s Bible Study Fellowship in Augusta for 11 years and as director of the Christian Medical/Dental Association in Augusta for 20 years. He enjoys time with his grandchildren, studying classical piano pieces, and traditional archery.

    Chase and his wife, Priscilla, started attending Crawford Avenue in 2016. They have two children, Opal and ER. Chase is a professional dog trainer who enjoys board games, video games, and audiobooks. He is also a captain for our church basketball team.

  • BOBBY BROWN

    DEACON OF SECURITY

    Bobby and his wife, Julia, joined Berea in 2009 and joined Crawford Avenue with the merger. They have a son, Justin, and a daughter, McKenzie. Bobby enjoys golfing and working out at the Y. He is also an avid Bulldog and Braves fan.

    Chris and his wife, Julia, became members at Crawford Avenue in 2017. Chris maintains his board certification as a doctor and is a proud member of American Association of Pro-life OBGYNs. Chris also loves gardening, kayaking, cycling, and talking with Julia.

    DEACON OF AUDIO/VISUAL

    Michael and his wife, Becca, joined Berea in 2015 just months before joining Crawford Avenue with the merger. They have three children: Jennifer, Amelia, and Caleb. His interests are playing music and reading fantasy literature.


  • Cheryl Brown

    DIRECTOR OF WOMEN'S MINISTRY

    Cheryl and her husband, Mark, became members of Berea in 2014 and joined Crawford Avenue with the merger. She is originally from upstate New York and has a masters degree from University of South Carolina in Library & Information Science. Before joining the staff in 2022, Cheryl was previously a youth services librarian, editor, and social media manager. She has served as the lay leader of Women's Ministry at Crawford since 2016 and enjoys hospitality, reading, and organizing. Cheryl and Mark have a son, Joshua.

    CHILDREN'S MINISTRY DIRECTOR

    Dottie and her husband, Stephen, were members at Berea from 2004 until moving away from the area in 2011. Dottie joined the staff of Crawford Avenue in 2017 when she and her family moved back to Augusta. She has a BA from Columbia International University and a masters degree from Augusta State University. She is a mom to three children and is passionate about adoption, the gospel, and running. 


  • James Cooper

    FACILITIES COORDINATOR

    James joined the staff of Crawford Avenue in 2020. He has lived in the Augusta area his entire life and has worked in the industrial and home maintenance industries for almost 30 years. He enjoys just about any outdoor activity, whether it be fishing, camping, hiking or camping. James is married and is the proud father of six children. 


  • Garrett Powell

    PASTORAL ASSISTANT

    Garrett became a Crawford Avenue member in 2021 and joined the staff in the fall of 2022. He earned a BA in communications from Augusta University where he was involved in the Baptist Collegiate Ministry. Garrett now attends seminary and is pursuing a vocation in pastoral ministry. He loves doing anything outdoors, frequenting coffee shops, and watching TV.

  • JORDAN TRAHAN

    PASTORAL ASSISTANT

    Jordan joined Crawford Avenue in 2020, along with his wife Katie. Jordan came on staff in 2022 as a Pastoral Assistant for college ministry. He and Katie have two children, Beckett and Jane. Jordan has a BA from Boyce College and is pursuing his MDiv from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He loves books, basketball, Star Wars, and spending time with family and friends.
